FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method consists in forcing air into cylinder and compressing it therein, forcing fluid fuel into cylinder chamber between reservoir 8 and electrode 3 and applying HV electric discharge to fuel 9 to form combustible mix of air and fuel 12. HV electric discharge is applied to fuel 9 in two steps. Said steps are carried out before piston reaches its TDC. During first step, HV electric discharge is fed intended for fuel spraying. Said first step is performed in interval between crankshaft turn angle (CTA) corresponding to exhaust valve closing angle and CTA making 340° from piston position in TDC at the beginning of air intake into cylinder. During second step, HV electric discharge is applied to ignite aforesaid mix 12. Second step is implemented in interval 345-355° CTA.
EFFECT: improved combustible mix formation.
