FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to methods of leg amputation and can be used in the patients suffering diabetes and atherosclerosis of lower extremity arteries. Prior to transverse osteotomy of the femoral bone, the femoral artery, veins and saphenous nerve are separated, sutured, ligated and transected individually. Skin, subcutaneous fat, and fascia on the anterior thigh are transected crosswise. A posterior musculocutaneous flap is formed. An extremity is cut off, the wound is closed with covering a femoral bonesaw-line with the formed musculocutaneous flap.
EFFECT: method reduces blood loss, risk of early deep infections and postoperative osteomyelitis of the femoral bonesaw-line, reduces re-amputation rate and creates the conditions to form a thigh stump suitable for primary prosthetics in a relatively short time.
