FIELD: medicine, surgery and orthopedics.
SUBSTANCE: operation is performed to amputate the lower limb at the level of the thigh. A stump of the femur is formed, covered with double-row muscular purse-string sutures. Then, a Hemopatch tampon is applied to the femoral stump and a Hemopatch tampon is fixed, and after layer-by-layer suturing of the wound and stitching, a VAC bandage is placed on the skin.
EFFECT: method allows to reduce the number of formed fluid accumulations, allows to prepare the femoral stump for prosthetics in the shortest possible time due to the combined use of the Hemopatch tampon and vacuum drainage.
