FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in thermal engines, primarily, diesel engines and gas turbine units, petrochemical, oil-and-gas industries, etc. Proposed method comprises treatment of emissions by low-temperature plasma generated by electric charge followed by sorption-catalytic treatment. Said electric charge is generated in the form of combined nano-second frequency-impulse and constant corona. Amount of energy introduced into electric discharge to reduce concentration of nitrogen oxide before sorption-catalytic treatment to magnitude smaller than or equal to 1% of initial NO concentration is maintained at the level of 55-100 eV per one molecule of nitrogen oxide NOx. Sorption-catalytic treatment is performed on sorbent impregnated with organic reducing substance. Gamma aluminium oxide can be used as said sorbent, while hydrocarbon reducer, for example diesel fuel, can be used as organic reducer.
EFFECT: lower power and material input, higher efficiency.
