FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed cutting tool comprises casing with axis of symmetry, wherein each lengthwise groove constricted by lateral surfaces and base, arranged is cutting element fastened therein by fastening screw. Said cutting element comprises insert and cutting plate rigidly jointed with insert front part and adjusting screw with cylindrical and taper sections on its head to fix cutting plate apex axially relative to aforesaid case. There is a hole to receive said fastening element representing a cylinder with crosswise threaded hole to interact with aforesaid fastening screw. Note here that aforesaid case is made from material that features specific weight smaller than that of the insert, fastening and adjusting screws. To increase total hardness of cutting plates, proposed tool incorporates locking screw located in each groove to interact with insert rear part and mounting element fitted in every hole to interact with adjusting and locking screws. For this, front and rear thrust surfaces are made on every insert to interact with taper and cylinder section of adjusting screw and flexible section arranged between aforesaid thrust surfaces. Note that insert rear part is made elastic in cross wise direction with crimps to interact with the case lateral grooves.
EFFECT: higher total hardness.
