FIELD: the invention refers to the field of metal processing by cutting, to sectional cutting instruments.

SUBSTANCE: the milling cutter has a body on the periphery of which there are installed in the seats tangential cutting plates, each seat has a foundation on which there is a lug with thread opening, a radial supporting wall and a tangential supporting wall, the cutting plate is fixed with the aid of a fastening screw passing through its hollow opening and has a groove covering the indicated lug of the seat, the lower supporting surface for interaction with the foundation of the seat, a radial and tangential side supporting surfaces. At that at installation in the seat the axis of the hollow opening of the cutting plate is located eccentrically relatively to the axis of the thread opening on the lug of the seat. For increasing effectiveness of processing due to increase of rigidity of the part of the body adjacent to the foundation of the seat, on it there is an additional lug whose longitudinal axis is located perpendicular to the main lug, and the lateral sides are forked in the direction of the thread opening. At that the additional lug is located on the foundation of the seat radially, and the main lug - tangentially. On each cutting plate there is an additional groove covering the indicated additional lug. There are reinforcing elements located in the seats of the body in parallel to the site of the foundation of the seat placed near the working cutting edge of the cutting plate.
