FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemistry and can be used in preparing gas during production of methanol. Gas at 5.0-7.0 MPa pressure is tapped from a main pipeline, throttled to 3.0-4.5 MPa, after which 15-25% gas is taped, throttled to 0.4-1.2 MPa and used as fuel, and the main gas stream at 3.0-4.5 MPa is fed into a heater for heating. The heated gas is desulphurated and undergoes catalytic conversion to obtain converted gas. Heat of the converted gas is recycled and said gas is compressed. Methanol synthesis is carried out with circulation of unreacted gas and recuperation of the heat of the latter. Condensed methanol is separated. Carbon dioxide is added to the gas before or after catalytic conversion.
EFFECT: invention enables use of gas in main pipelines with over 5 MPa pressure for methanol synthesis.
