FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: hardware unit for overvoltage protection comprises basing U-shaped pediment to hold at least one insert module (14) with installed element of overvoltage protection. Between insert module (14) and basing pediment there are fixing facilities, which at opposite ends (3) of insert module (14) on hinged joint (1) that is preliminarily energised comprise fixing ledges, which enter according fixing groove on insert module (14). Fixing connection is arranged with the possibility of disengagement by means of pressing at hinged joint (1) at the ends (3) of insert module. According hinged joint (1) is located in transition area between upper side and according end (3) of insert module (14), besides, hinged joint changes into gripping surface (5) directed towards basing pediment. At the lower end of gripping surface (5) there is a hook-like fixing ledge (6) provided, fixing surface (7) of which forms an angle of less than 90° with gripping surface (5). Besides U-shaped jaws of pediment have hook-like fixing groove (8) with undercut, which is arranged as responsive to fixing ledge.
