FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing 1-isoalkoxy-1-phenylethanes of formula I , where R = i-propyl, i-butyl, 2-ethylhexyl, which can be used as plasticisers in chlorine-containing polymers, as well as catalyst components in polymerisation and cooligomerisation of olefins. The method involves catalytic interaction of styrene with iso-structure alcohols ROH, where R is as indicated above, at 80-110°C. The catalyst used is zeolites or zeolite-containing contacts in amount of 5-10 wt % in terms of the reaction mass and molar ratio styrene: alcohol equal to 1:1-3. As a rule, the zeolite catalysts used are zeolites Y or Beta in H-form, and the zeolite-containing cantact used is zeolite HY formed with amorphous aluminium silicate with kaoline structure in ratio of 70:30 (weight).
EFFECT: method enables to obtain desired products with high output and selectivity using stable catalysts.
