FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: proposed variator comprises casing 1, coaxial drive and drive shafts 2 and 4, respectively, hemispherical hollow friction elements 3, 5, symmetrical intermediate friction elements 6, 7, and gear ratio variation mechanism. Gear ratio variation mechanism is made up of central bell crank, links made up of consecutive arc-like elements articulated with two extreme levers coupled with intermediate friction links 6, 7. Arc-like elements are made up of two links, -like in pan and arc-like in side view, each having inclined and parallel end parts, and two links parallel in plan and arc-like in side view. Each -link has its one end part connected with the link rectangular in plan. Opposite end part of each -like link is coupled with bell crank of appropriate intermediate friction element. Central bell crank coupled with control wheel drives aforesaid links to turn intermediate friction elements 6, 7 towards each other to adjust rpm of driven shaft.
EFFECT: necessary gear ratio on turning control wheel through certain angle.
