HOLE-MAKING UNIT Russian patent published in 2000 - IPC

FIELD: agricultural engineering. SUBSTANCE: hole-making unit has self-propelled cart with mounted working tools for making seedling holes in related ridges. Working tools are made in the form of blocks with auger-type cutters. Single-armed levers are mounted on platforms laterally of cart sides in equally spaced relation, with distance between levers being equal to seedling spacing. Single-armed levers are directed with their one ends from side edges of platform one to the other and with their other ends connected to cutters. Cutters have rotary leaves and device for rotating these leaves. Cable spool provided with rotation drive is mounted in rear part of platform. Handle positioned above platform is provided with control panel for controlled rotation of single-armed levers with cutters, for moving cart, unwinding and winding cable onto spool. Leaves rotating device has system composed of four L-shaped double-armed levers which are kinematically connected one with the other and arranged circumferentially on core part of auger-type cutter. Lower arm of lower L-shaped lever defines leave. Helical strip and helical plates are positioned on core part of each auger-type cutter in the vicinity of tie-rods of leaf rotating device. Helical plates are adapted for preventing soil particles from getting into place adjacent to leaf rotating members. When hole-making unit is in operative position, adjacent working parts of helical strips of each auger-type cutter and leaves are arranged on respective surfaces so as to continue each other.
