FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods and devices for electromagnetic plasma separation of isotopes. The method of separating isotopes involves evaporation of working substance, feeding a mixture of n isotopes in gaseous state into an ionisation zone, ionisation of the mixture of isotopes, acceleration of isotope ions in the acceleration region of a plasma accelerator, creation of an azimuthal perpendicular direction of movement of isotope ions at the output of the magnetic field accelerator, separation of isotope ions according to mass in a direct current magnetic field and compensation for volume charge of ion current of the stream of isotopes using an accompanying electron source. The device for separating ions has a plasma source of working substance, an electromagnet, receivers for separated isotope ions, a source of electrons for compensating for volume charge of the beam of isotope ions, where the source of isotope ions is a two-stage plasma accelerator with closed electron drift. Receivers of separated isotope ions lie at certain distances from the start point.

EFFECT: invention improves quality of separating isotopes, provides high mass resolution, high efficiency and low cost.
