FIELD: process engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods and device intended for electromagnetic plasma separation of isotopes. Proposed method comprises feeding working substance containing mix of n gaseous isotopes into plasma accelerator, mix ionisation and acceleration of isotope ions to be discharged integrated with quasi-neutral plasma flow through the gap in accelerator magnetic core. Note here that plasma accelerator allows circular discharge of isotope ion flow toward accelerator lengthwise axis. Then, azimuthal non-uniform magnetic field is induced in separation region, isotope ions are separated by weights in magnetic field, bulk ion flow charge is compensated for by follow-electrons source, and separated isotope ions are connected in separate receivers. Proposed isotope separation device comprises plasma accelerator, magnet, gap in magnetic core with crosswise magnetic field, receivers of separated isotope ions located on isotope ions collection line and spaced apart for distance dln.

EFFECT: higher separation quality, higher efficiency and weight resolution and minimised overall dimensions.
