FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to petrochemistry, gas chemistry, coal chemistry and a catalyst for synthesis of hydrocarbons from CO and H2 and a method of preparing said catalyst. The catalyst for synthesis of hydrocarbons from CO and H2 contains Raney cobalt as one of the active components, aluminium metal and a binding component and is in form of granules. The method of preparing the catalyst for synthesis of hydrocarbons from CO and H2 involves mixing powdered Raney cobalt, aluminium metal, binding component with a liquid phase, obtaining granules through extrusion of the obtained paste, drying and calcination of the obtained granules.

EFFECT: higher resistance of the catalyst to overheating and high output of C5-C100 hydrocarbons during synthesis of hydrocarbons from CO and H2.
