FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to petrochemistry, gas chemistry and a catalyst support for exothermic processes, particularly Fischer-Tropsch synthesis of methanol, hydrogenation and cleaning exhaust gases. Described is an exothermic process catalyst support which contains aluminium metal in form of a mixture of finely dispersed powder of flaked and spherical aluminium and a binding component in the following ratio in wt %: aluminium metal 25-95, binding component - the rest. Described also is a catalyst for exothermic processes which contains an active metal selected from Co, Fe, Ni, Ru, Rh, Pt, Pd, Cu and/or mixtures thereof and the support described above, wherein content of the active metal lies between 0.1 and 40% of the mass of the catalyst.
EFFECT: support and catalyst based on said support are obtained, having isotropic properties which improve mass transfer inside granules of the catalyst and therefore ensure intense chemical reaction and increase efficiency of the process by increasing the load on initial reagents.
