FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to biotechnology, particularly to natural water treatment systems and microbiologial bioremediation (biological restoration) of open water bodies, inland water or a coast line polluted with oil or petroleum products. The cartridge for purifying natural water from oil pollutants has natural aggregations of hydrocarbon-oxidising bacteria living in the purified natural water, biotechnologically grown or immobilised on the surface of natural carriers placed on the surface of porous sorbents for oil and petroleum products, lying in one or more layers, where the cartridge is fitted with a positive buoyancy rigid frame in form of a ring whose diametre is 10-15 times greater than its height, where the sorbent is placed inside the frame enclosed in a porous cotton cloth, for example coarse calico or a netting.
EFFECT: invention increases efficiency of natural purification of water from oil or petroleum products.
