SELECTION OF TRANSMISSION SPEED FOR CHARACTERISTIC CONTROL IN MIMO COMMUNICATION SYSTEM Russian patent published in 2010 - IPC H04B7/02 H04L1/06 H04J99/00

Abstract RU 2406228 C2

FIELD: information technology.

SUBSTANCE: access point transmits an uncontrolled MIMO pilot signal over a downlink. A user terminal evaluates quality of the downlink based on the uncontrolled MIMO pilot signal of the downlink and transmits the uncontrolled MIMO signal and feedback information indicating quality of the downlink. The access point evaluates quality of an uplink and obtains a matrix of channel responses based on the uncontrolled MIMO pilot signal of the uplink, breaks down the matrix of channel responses to obtain characteristic vectors and channel amplification coefficient for characteristic modes of the downlink, and selects transmission speed for characteristic modes based on evaluation of the quality of the uplink, the channel amplification coefficient for characteristic modes and feedback information. The access point processes data based on the selected transmission speed values and transmits control data and a controlled MIMO pilot signal on characteristic modes through characteristic vectors.

EFFECT: simple and efficient method of selecting transmission speed in a MIMO system.
