SUBSTANCE: articulating swivel apparatus for ortheses and prostheses comprises an upper part, a lower part rotatable thereon round a pivot, and a brake assembly slowing down or blocking the rotations of the lower bottom part relatively to the upper part. A coil spring (5) which is tensed round a coil axis (4) parallel to the pivot and contacts stop members (6, 7) when tensed towards, is provided between said two stop members (6, 7).

EFFECT: invention provides opening or blocking of the articulating swivel apparatus at small trigger force and dimensions comparable with human extremities.
