SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medicine. Method of controlling artificial orthresis or prosthesis of lower extremity joint contains resistance-creating device, provided with, at least, one execution mechanism, by means of which resistance to flexion and/or resistance to extension depending on the data of sensors is measured. In the process of joint application information about state is provided by means of sensors. Resistance to flexion in phase of standing is increased or not reduced, when angle of inertia of shin part, decreasing towards the vertical, and simultaneously loaded metatarsus are identified. Device for claimed method realisation contains adjustable resistance-creating device, located between two components of artificial knee joint orthesis or prosthesis, installed relative to each other in hinged way, control unit and sensors for obtaining information about device state. Device includes adjusting device, which provides possibility of activating or deactivating resistance change depending on load.
EFFECT: inventions provide possibility of automatic loading or blocking the knee in walking backwards by means of increased resistance, without necessity of conscious switching on or switching over of the mode.
