FIELD: chemistry; biochemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to microbiology. The method involves culturing Clostridium bacteria in a set of series-connected bioreactors using a culturing substrate. Culturing is carried out jointly with seeding Clostridium acetobutylicum and Clostridium tyrobutyricum or Clostridium acetobutylicum and Clostridium butyricum in the culturing substrate in ratio between 1:1 and 1:11. The culturing substrate contains the following (wt %): carbon sources in form of mono- and/or oligosaccharides 4.4-6.0, nitrogen (overall) 0.055-0.2, phosphorus 0.038-0.064, magnesium (Mg+2) 0.0098-0.144, iron (Fe+2) 0.0008-0.0010. Content of butanol in the composition of solvents is equal to 62.3-74.6%, output of butanol from the fermented conversional starch and total solvents equals 22.8-30% and 34.1-48.6%, respectively.
EFFECT: method increases relative content of n-butanol in a mixture of solvents and total output of solvents.
