FIELD: biotechnology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to biotechnology and can be used for production of butyric acid. Anaerobic bacteria strain Clostridium tyrobutyricum, synthesizing butyric acid with high selectivity (up to 100 %) and resistant to its concentration up to 2.0 vol. % in liquid medium is deposited in Russian national collection of Industrial Microorganisms under registration number VKPM V-12465. Method for microbiological synthesis of butyric acid is disclosed, which envisages cultivation of strain C. tyrobutyricum VKPM V-12465 in anaerobic conditions in nutrient medium containing carbon sources, nitrogen and mineral additives. As carbon source nutrient medium contains 60 g/l of glucose and 3 g/l of ammonium acetate.

EFFECT: inventions provide maximum accumulation of butyric acid 27 g/l in culture fluid without by-products.
