FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: procedure consists in loading agglomerating machine with charge composed of iron ore material, flux, additives, sinter return and solid fuel, in igniting, agglomerating, cooling and mechanical treatment of cake with crumbling and screening. Also there is controlled and changed value of ratio of weight-average size fwa to equivalent size on surface of fae of produced agglomerate, while maintaining ratio fwa:fae within the range 1.0-2.0.
EFFECT: production of agglomerate with optimal value of average size and high physical properties most fully meeting requirements of blast furnace production to size.
