FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: procedure consists in loading agglomerating machine with charge composed of iron ore material, flux, additives, sinter return and solid fuel, in igniting, agglomerating, cooling and mechanical treatment of cake with crumbling and screening. Average equivalent on surface size fae of produced agglomerate is specified and controlled within ranges of 10-20 mm. Also, there is controlled ratio of oversize and under size products at screening. There is controlled an average size of produced agglomerate by changing ratio of output of over size and under size products depending on specified average equivalent by surface size fae. Ratio of output of oversize to output of undersize products of agglomerate is maintained at level of 0.5-0.9. When specified average equivalent by surface size fae is changed at 1 mm in the said ranges ratio of output of oversize and undersize products of agglomerate is changed back in proportion at 0.04.
EFFECT: production of agglomerate with optimal value of average size and high physical properties most completely meeting requirements of blast furnace production to size.
