FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: procedure for determination of mechanical properties of metal samples consists in tension of samples in gaining tensile-test diagram σ(ε) in coordinates σ - ε, in pressing indenter into tested sample under measuring pressure PMEAS, in recording indenter impression and in obtaining experimental diagram of impression. On base of the tensile-test diagram there is calculated a theoretical curve of impression P(h)T in coordinates P - h by the method of finite elements. Also there is continuously measured and simultaneously recorded measuring load PMEAS and depth of indenter impression. Notably, load is measured directly on the indenter and load is been changing in time t according to a linear programme at a constant speed 0≤PMEAS=kt≤PLIM where k=dP/dt - speed of load change, t - is time of a measuring process. There is plotted the impression diagram P(h)E in coordinates P-h on points of inflection of which there are determined mechanical properties: coefficient of elasticity E, hardness, hardening during deformation , yield point σT, and ultimate stress limit σV. The experimental and theoretical impression curves are matched and there is determined a correlation association between points of inflection of the diagrams and parametres determining mechanical properties. Thus, there are evaluated mechanical properties and conformance of the samples.
EFFECT: raised efficiency of procedure owing to expanded functionality.
