FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: pulsed microwave signal from a radiator or reflector is received by a receiving system consisting of N (N≥8) receiving centres, the time of arrival of the signal at the receiving centre is determined, the receiving centres are broken into all possible three-centre hyperbolic positioning systems, through which primary estimates of generalised positions of radiation sources are calculated, including their coordinates on the plane and moments of radiation, the maximum value of grouping said estimates is determined, the modulus of relative difference in propagation speed of the signal from a first averaged estimate to each pre-estimate is determined, where further examination excludes those estimates for which the obtained value exceeds a threshold value. Grouping of the remaining estimates is then calculated in each of these points and the point with maximum grouping value is the second averaged estimate. By comparing moments of radiation, one of the obtained averaged estimates is associated with the radiator and the other with the reflector.
EFFECT: high accuracy of determining position of a radiator and a reflector.
