FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: method of respiratory and eye protection against aerosols and a protection device for implementation thereof refers to prevention medicinal products and aims at considerably decreasing the probability of harmful aerosol ingress (bacteria, viruses, allergens in the various form, including in the form of liquid drops, as well as various dust) in a body while breathing. The protection device represents a portable power unit and a pump generating air-curtain air flows in front of the respiratory inlets (nostrils and mouth) with a flow velocity vector being parallel to the inlet planes. The flow velocity (more than 10 m/s) is sufficient to capture aerosol particles trying to penetrate into the respiratory inlets and to carry them out together with air flow from the respiratory apparatus. The pump generates air flows directly from the ambient air containing aerosol particles, however due to the gained velocity the flows holds these particles inside which pass by the respiratory inlet as being enabled by inertia.
EFFECT: decreased power consumption, dimensions and weight, as well as prevention of electrical safety problems and toxic effect of a air-cleaning system.
