FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: tubular light source is based on a tube (1) made from heat conducting material. Light-emitting diodes are placed on part of the outer surface of the said tube. Heat from the light-emitting diodes is transmitted to the tube and then to the surrounding medium through cooling fins (6) on the other side of the outer surface of the tube. Inside the tube there are control electronic apparatus (7), as well as connectors (10) on each end of the tube, which enable to fit the light source into a fitting for fluorescent lamps. A vacuum (20) is created inside the tube, which prevents moisture condensation during cold conditions. The electronic apparatus enable switching on/off and control of the level of light coming from the light-emitting diodes, as well as control of colour components (red, green, blue) of the light. That way, different colour temperatures can be obtained. The light source has a sensor for detecting motion in the surrounding environment and measuring the light spectrum of the surrounding medium. The electronic apparatus can communicate with other light sources or with a central control device through an electrical power cable. Information on operation of the light source can be stored for subsequent analysis. Organic light-emitting diodes (OLED) can be used instead of conventional light-emitting diodes.
EFFECT: invention increases efficiency of a light source.
