FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: for diagnosis of ventilator-associated tracheobronchitis in newborns, there are evaluated leukocyte count in tracheobronchial aspirate, neutrophils-macrophague interaction (NMI), tracheobronchial tree sanation ratio, observed sputum, auscultation rattling to be appraised by points. If total score is less than 5, the mild severity level is diagnosed; total score within 6 to 10 shows the moderate level, while total score being 11 and more provides the severe level. And if leukocyte count is more than 4.5×109/l, and the NMI is more than 1.0, ventilator-associated tracheobronchitis is diagnosed.
EFFECT: use of the technique allows early diagnosis of ventilator-associated tracheobronchitis in the newborns supported by artificial pulmonary ventilation.
