FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: tracking the position of reference points of eyes of viewers in video frames is realised through a face identifier instance for detecting the position of the face in video frames, where said instance selects a considerably small subarea from a complete video frame as the face target area for each face so as to transmit data of the said face target area to at least one next face identifier instance for detecting position of the eyes, where a considerably small subarea is selected from each face target area as an eye target area so as to transmit data of the said eye target area to at least one next eye tracking instance for tracking the position of the eyes. The position of reference points in the eye target area in the current video frame and in the next video frames is detected and data are generated for the tracking device. Each of the instances is carried out in a computing unit parallel each other and positions of reference points of eyes are positions of the pupils and/or corners of eyes.

EFFECT: minimisation of the number of errors and delay time between receiving an image, which is a video frame reading, and output of data on the position of eyes.
