FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: offered invention refers to ophthalmology, and aims at treating chronic dacryocystitis. It involves transcanalicular laser endoscopic dacryocystorhinostomy. An anastomosis between the lachrymal sac and nasal cavity is created with using pulse laser radiation of wave length 2.08 mcm, pulse energy 800-1200 mJ, pulse repetition frequency 6-10 Hz, pulse duration 250 mcsec, power 4-12 Wt. A light guide is metal coated. After bringing the light guide to the exposed region, in the nasal cavity of the involved side on the internasal septum or medial surface of the middle nasal concha, a plate made of a preserved costal cartilage is placed. If presenting the middle nasal concha to a suggested anastomosis, its subluxation is required.
EFFECT: method allows to avoid cicatrical-adhesive process within the anastomosis and consequently recurrent dacryocystitis, as well as to prevent lachrymal duct injury and laser optical fiber loss.
