FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: device for draining an artificial junction of a lachrymal sac and a nasal cavity in laser endoscopic dacriocystorhinostomy is presented in the form of a drain tube. The device comprises a silicone tube. The device is 8.4 mm long and has a cylinder portion 6 mm long with an outer diameter of 3 mm and an inner diameter of 2 mm. To fix within the lachrymal sac, an implanted end of the drain tube is provided with a deformable elements of a diameter of 5 mm, a width of 1 mm from each side, and a bending diameter of 3.2-3.5 mm; at the opposite end of the drain tube, there is a plate 5 mm in diameter to fix in the nasal cavity; throughout its length, the drain tube has slots 0.25 mm wide and 8-8.1 mm long for additional lachrymal fluid outflow.
EFFECT: using the invention is expected to reduce the length of the drain tube installation procedure and the accompanying injury rate, to prevent postoperative cicatrisation potentially followed by dacryostoma obliteration.
