FIELD: transport.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to boosting spacecraft into preset geostationary orbit. Proposed method consists in separating spacecraft from boost unit in transfer orbit, orienting it in the orbit and cutting in standard electric rocket engine unit to move spacecraft in preset point of geostationary orbit. Spacecraft orbital orientation is carried out by cutting in standard electric rocket engines at rated discharge currents and fuel flow rate. Note here that discharge voltage is set to satisfy the relationship Ud=(0.7-0.8) Up.f., where Up.f. is minimum potential of air discharge firing (design magnitude).
EFFECT: reduced weight and overall dimensions of electric rocket engines, lower costs of spacecraft production, xenon savings.
