FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in inorganic chemistry. To obtain caesium hydroxide, ore material containing caesium is decomposed with sulphuric acid to obtain alumo-caesium alums. The alumo-caesium alums in form of a solution are separated from solid residues of the ore material, after which a solution of caesium sulphate is obtained from the solution of alumo-caesium alums. Caesium hydroxide solution is obtained after reaction of caesium sulphate solution with barium hydroxice or strontium hydroxide. Carbon dioxide or hydrocarbonate or carbonate which is soluble in caesium hydroxide solution is added to the obtained caesium hydroxide solution. The formed precipitation products are separated from the solution and the caesium hydroxide solution is then concentrated.
EFFECT: invention increases purity of caesium hydroxide solution.
