FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for synthesis of aromatic hydrocarbons from methane. The invention discloses a method of converting methane into higher molecular weight hydrocarbons containing aromatic hydrocarbons, where starting material containing methane is brought into contact with a dehydrocyclisation catalyst in a reaction zone under conditions effective for converting said methane to aromatic hydrocarbons. A first portion of this catalyst is taken from the reaction zone to a heating zone, where the first portion of the catalyst is heated through contact with hot gaseous combustion products obtained by burning an extra source of fuel lying separately from the catalyst. The heated first portion of the catalyst is then returned to the reaction zone.
EFFECT: longer service life of the catalyst.
