FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to versions of the method of converting methane into higher-molecular weight hydrocarbon(s). One version comprises aromatic hydrocarbon(s) in a reaction zone, involving: (a) feeding into said reaction zone hydrocarbon starting material containing methane; (b) feeding into said reaction zone catalytic powdered material; (c) bringing said catalytic powdered material into contact with said hydrocarbon starting material essentially on the counterflow principle; (d) maintaining flow dynamics of said reaction zone with gaseous streams such that the reduced velocity of gas (U) is less than the minimum velocity (UMP) required for fluidisation of solid particles and (e) operation of said reaction zone in reaction conditions sufficient for conversion of at least a portion of said methane into a first effluent containing said higher-molecular weight hydrocarbon(s).
EFFECT: use of the present invention enables to achieve maximum selectivity with respect to the end hydrocarbons while simultaneously minimising the required catalyst circulation rate.
