SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of medicine and pharmacology, namely, to method for production of stable water gel composition on the basis of metronidazole, where specified method includes the following subsequent stages: (A) production of diluting medium M, including water and propylene glycol; (B) dilution of metronidazole in such prepared diluting medium M with optional subsequent dilution of produced medium by means of water addition to form solution of metronidazole S; and then (C) mixing of produced solution S with sufficient amount of cross-linked polymers of polyacrylic acids to make gal composition. Invention also relates to stable water gel dermatological composition, which may be produced according to specified method, and to use of such compositions to produce medicinal agent intended for local application for the purpose of prophylactics or therapy of dermal disease.
EFFECT: high stability of gel composition is achieved due to dilution of metronidazole in diluting medium, made of water and propylene glycol, with further addition of sufficient amount of cross-linked polymers of polyacrylic acids to specified medium.
