FIELD: process engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention aims at reducing coefficient of materials consumption and scope of labor-intensive transport-and-storage jobs in sheet rolling at reversing thick-sheet mill. Proposed method comprises heating continuously-cast billets, their roughing and finishing at reversing thick-sheet mill with intermediate biller cooling-down and accelerated cooling of produced strip, sampling, producing specimens and testing mechanical properties, certification and shipment of products. Every lot of rolled stock made up of one smelt and consisting of about to continuously-cast billets, has several check billets with allowance for sampling from finished strip. First half of said billets is rolled by preset process, and mechanical properties of produced strips are determined. Given positive results of the check, series rolling of the remaining billets of aforesaid lot is carried out with the same parametres. Tolerable deviation of temperature parametres of series rolling from trail rolling magnitudes is regulated. If mechanical properties of check strips do not comply with required magnitudes, second half of check strips is rolled with corrected process parametres.

EFFECT: flexible correction of process parametres, reduced metal consumption.
