FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: manufacturing method of plate strips for main pipes on a reversing mill involves calculation of length of one-sided end process crops, which is equal to cold zone on the plate end depending on thickness and width of a plate based on the following ratio: Δ=(A1×h2-A2×h+A3)×(A4/S)1/2±200 mm; where Δ - length of end process crops on one side of a plate, mm; h - plate thickness, mm; S - plate width, mm A1=0.024 mm-1; A2=70.918; A3=1909.3 mm, A4=3500 mm - empiric coefficients for plate strips, which are determined by experiment.
EFFECT: possibility of optimising length of end process crops of plate strips for each item of the size range of main pipes and preserving consistent quality of plate strips.
