FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: aluminium oxide precursor salt, together with inoculating particles of alpha aluminium oxide with size not greater than 25 nm, undergoes mechanochemical treatment in a mill. The obtained mixture is added an aqueous solution of the same salt. A gel is precipitated from the obtained solution using ammonia, dried and roasted at 800-930°C. The obtained alpha aluminium oxide is ground in an organic liquid or in an aqueous solution containing organic binder and then dried in air at room temperature. The inoculant used is alpha aluminium oxide obtained via mechanochemical synthesis. The organic liquid used is acetone, alcohol or toluene, and the organic binder used is polyvinyl alcohol. The obtained alpha aluminium oxide is granulated by rubbing through a sieve.
EFFECT: invention enables to obtain weakly aggregated nano-powder of alpha aluminium oxide with narrow particle size distribution.
