FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: described is a method of converting lignin to liquid and gaseous hydrocarbons and derivatives thereof, involving using lignin in form of insoluble wet hydrolysis lignin, which, in the presence of a catalyst - noble metal salt, is simultaneously treated with water, alcohols and hydrogen at initial pressure of 10-20 atm in an autoclave while heating to 250-350°C, after which sub- or supercritical conditions at pressure 60-90 atm are created, and liquid hydrocarbons are separated from the solid residue by filtering.
EFFECT: high conversion of lignin to liquid hydrocarbon products with a negligible fraction of solid and gaseous products.
