FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing carbon monoxide from hydrolytic lignin, involving contacting at temperature of 500–800 °C of lignin with carbon dioxide, at volumetric rate of CO2 supply to reactor 900 h-1, in presence of iron or cobalt catalyst, which is iron or cobalt, applied on surface of lignin by method of impregnation on moisture capacity with nitrate solution of corresponding metal, wherein catalyst substrate used is lignin directly involved in reaction. With this method, catalyst pre-activation is not required.
EFFECT: with CO selectivity of up to 100 %, conversion of CO2 reaches 70 % at temperature 800 °C on catalyst containing 5 wt % Fe.
