FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: procedure consists in pelletising cleaning rejects of aluminium slag of size not over 150 mcm into granules, and in charging a portion of granules into roasting equipment of a shaft type with layer not less, than one metre. By means of a burner lower layers of granules are ignited to temperature of 840°C for not more, than 5 minutes to initiate process of self-propagating high temperature synthesis. Into the zone of combustion there is supplied air at coefficient of oxygen consumption K=1.3Cs, where Cs is coefficient for stoichiometry of aluminium oxidising reaction. Upon roasting granules have the following composition, wt %: Al2O3 50-60, Almet 3-5, SiO2 6-8, S not more 0.2, P not more 0.2, N to 1, oxides and metal chlorides - the rest.
EFFECT: extended facilities for more efficient utilisation of total weight of slag forming mixture.
