FIELD: ferrous metallurgy; making high-quality steels. SUBSTANCE: proposed method of steelmaking includes overheating of steel above liquidus temperature, tapping of metal and pouring it in reactor containing circular melting chamber with refining slag, overheating and treatment of it by submersible combustion jet, extraction refining of metal and its preheating by regenerated refining slag through mixing them at subsequent separation and tapping of metal from reactor. Non-deoxidized liquid steel is used as metal; extraction refining of steel to preset concentration of oxygen and preheating of it to preset temperature are effected by regenerated refining slag containing less than 1.0% of FeO and MnO, respectively. EFFECT: low cost of treatment of steel by slags; deep removal of oxygen and sulfur from steel; reduced content of phosphorus and non-metallic inclusions in steel; reduced consumption of deoxidizing agents; reduced specific power requirements. 7 cl, 3 ex
