SUBSTANCE: invention relates to devices of transverse capacitance compensation in traction AC network of 25 kV system. Device of transverse capacitance compensation in traction AC network of 25 kV comprises single-phase capacitor battery connected to buses via the first breaker with drive, reactor to avoid resonant events, damping resistor with its shunting thyristor switch and second breaker with drive. Reduction of overvoltage is carried out by increase of damping resistor value and shunting of its current.
