SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radiolocation and can be used in detecting radiolocation stations. The method of detecting power transmission towers involves emission of a radiolocation signal towards a power transmission tower, receiving the reflected signal, comparing the amplitude of the received signal with a threshold signal, the presence of a power transmission tower being indicated by the amplitude of the received signal exceeding the threshold value, receiving and detecting a signal emitted by power transmission wires, the presence of a power transmission line being indicated by the simultaneous exceeding of the threshold value by the amplitude of the signal received from the power transmission tower and detection of the signal emitted by power transmission wires. Apparatus for detecting power transmission towers has a first antenna with a drive, a second antenna which is mechanically connected to the first, two mixers, two intermediate frequency amplifiers, two threshold units, two heterodynes, a coincidence device, connected in a certain way.

EFFECT: high reliability of detecting power transmission towers.
