POLYURETHANE MODEL OF TISSUE-EQUIVALENT MEMBER Russian patent published in 2011 - IPC G09B23/06

Abstract RU 2410758 C1

FIELD: test equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to research models for measurement of radiation doses for critical human members in conditions of space flights and refers to polyurethane model of tissue-equivalent member. Tissue-equivalent dosimetric device for measurement of dose of ionisation radiations includes housing in the inner cavity of which dosimetric equipment is installed. Housing has the shape and dimensions which simulate the impact of ionisation radiation on individual critical human member considering self-screening of that member. Polyurethane is as tissue-equivalent material. Distribution of thickness of housing which simulates individual human member corresponds to distribution of thickness of human tissue about its appropriate member. Dosimetric equipment consists of assembly of passive detectors, track detectors for evaluation of integral dose impacts in mixed dose metre fields for investigation of contribution to dose of neutrons and heavy charged particles and semi-conductor detectors for recording of charged particles. Component parts of housing are made from the same material. Housing includes inner cavity for arrangement of passive and active dose metres with cable outlet hole.

EFFECT: invention provides development of construction and materials which meet the operating requirements in conditions of open space environment and lined compartments of space vehicles.
