FIELD: life saving equipment.

SUBSTANCE: device enabling to descend a person from a high place at adjustable and variable speed comprises a restraint element having a number of slots. A tape kept in a container is passed through the slots to a hook to fasten the device to a fixed point. When putting on a suspension system detachably coupled to the restraint element, a user can descent at the adjustable speed determined by a clutch via friction of the tape with surfaces of the restraint element. Inside the container on the tape, there is a holed decelerating device to decelerate a tape passage through the restraint element, thereby regulating a descent speed.

EFFECT: smooth descent with enabled descent speed adjustment is provided.
