FIELD: rescuing equipment, particularly devices for lowering person from building. SUBSTANCE: device has plate with wedge-like orifice in lower end thereof for safety hook fastening and oval orifice for paratrooper or weight hanging-up. Device comprises braking mechanism formed as cylindrical rollers secured to plate and brake control means. Flats are formed on roller cylindrical surfaces. Rollers are grouped in one row and comprise channels. Channel depth is more than channel radius, which in turn is equal to 0.5 rope diameter. Flats on opposite rollers mating each other are formed transversely to lines of connection between rollers and plate. Slots created between adjacent flats extend to channel centers. Width of each slot is less than rope diameter. Flats are closed by removable case having shelves. Shelves surround plate. EFFECT: increased responsiveness. 6 cl, 4 dwg
