FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to copolymers of ethylene and propylene and a method of producing said copolymers. The copolymers of ethylene and propylene contain 4.5-7 wt % ethylene. Mw/Mn is equal to 3.5-5.5, Mz/Mw is less than 4. There are no 2-1 regioinversions. Melting point is lower than 143°C. The method of producing the copolymers is realised in a suspension based on liquid propylene as the polymerisation medium in the presence of a catalyst system. The catalyst system consists of a titanium compound having a bond between a halogen and titanium and an electron donor compound which is selected from 1,3-diethers of formula (I). Both compounds are deposited on magnesium chloride. The catalyst system additionally includes an organoaluminium compound as a cocatalyst.
EFFECT: polymers exhibit excellent balance of impact, optical and processing properties, which are retained even after splitting.
