FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: device for determination velocity and direction of liquid flow consists of recording and data processing unit (14), of receiving unit (13) and of measuring unit in form of pressure tight case (2) with blades, balancing float (9) with regulating load (10), suspension unit (7) and velocity sensor (3). Case (2) is equipped with a digital system of processing and transmitting signals on base of micro-controller (5); the system also has sensors of orientation (6): a sensor of deviation from direction of magnetic field in form of tree-axis electron compass and sensor of deviation from vertical in form of two-axis inclinometre. The unit of suspension is fastened on a rigid support equipped with a cable line and can drive the measuring unit to rotation around vertical axis and to swinging around horizontal axis (for example, using a Cardan suspension). Owing to the suspension unit and sensors of orientation the device is capable to self-align in a flow of sea water by azimuth and angle of place, to measure and consider vertical constituent of flow at determination of its velocity and direction.
EFFECT: raised reliability and accuracy of obtained data, small dimensions and weight of device and ease of use.
